MELODIC rock band Ember will be hoping to create a spark with audiences in Worcester when they play Worcester's Marr's Bar on Sunday night.
The group - made up of mainly Malvern-based musicians - stepped out onto the live circuit only last year but have already been well-received by those with an ear for a good tune.
Carol Lee Sampson - who will be familiar to many for her solo performances or appearances as part of duo Take Two - began writing songs at the age of nine and is at the band's helm.
The skilled musician - who plays acoustic guitar and keyboards - got together with bass player Dave Reed, guitarist Jason Firth and, later, drummer James Elliott-Williams, to form Ember.
Most of their set showcases Carol's original songs, plus others co-written by the band, although they do let loose with a few old favourites.
Audiences can also expect some classy guitar playing from Jason, and catchy choruses guaranteed to stick in their heads for a while after.
Doors open for the gig at 8pm and tickets are £4 on the night.
