THE Worcestershire point-to-point season opens tomorrow when the Harkaway Club hold their annual fixture at the Chaddesley Corbett track.
A bumper 307 entries have been received and a ten-race card is planned with an 11.30am start.
The Men's Open race could see the reappearance of last season's Lady Dudley Cup heroes Caught At Dawn and his teenage jockey Tom Weston. The Hindlip hopeful is one of 36 entries received.
Among his possible opponents are the Nick Shutts owned Foly Pleasant, who has the Foxhunters at Cheltenham as his stated aim, Just Cliquot, who should be sharper for his reappearance run at Barbury Castle, and the talented but injury-prone Minella Silver.
Apart from Foly Pleasant, the Ladies Open has attracted 45 entries, including last season's leading pointer Upton Adventure. She is by no means certain to run, however, following a hard race at Thorpe Lodge last time out.
The Andrew Dalton-trained Quality First is also entered along with the consistent Stretching and Titus Bramble, who will be looking to improve on the two second places gained already this year.
The Clive Hitchings-owned Saint Reverien could take all the beating in the first division of the Restricted Open.
This follows his recent placing behind the well-regarded Darnil, while a possible danger could be Miss Sallyfield from the Crow stable. April Treasure will also appreciate the shorter course and is among the 27 entries.
The Mike Hammond-trained Youwouldhavethat is one of 27 entries in the second division and he could follow up his recent Maiden win.
Among the Maidens to keep an eye on are Lost in the Snow and Euro Craft, despite being a faller last time out.
