CHARITY Age Concern is asking people to grasp the opportunity of a lifetime and trek across China to raise money.
The trek will take participants along the Great Wall of China as it snakes through the mountains and breathtaking scenery of the country.
The charity says it will give participants the chance to take on a physical challenge and to learn about the rich culture and history of a fascinating country, while raising vital funds to help older people.
The money raised will support local services such a befriending schemes, transport, day centres and social groups which are a lifeline for many older people in the county.
Participants do not need to be "super fit" beforehand and anyone over 18 is eligible to take part.
All you need is a sense of adventure, reasonable fitness levels and a commitment to raising a sufficient level of sponsorship money.
Flights accommodation, food and refreshments are all included.
The trek will take place between Friday, October 28, and Sunday, November 6, this year.
