VALENTINE'S Day looks set to be the start of three weeks of misery for motorists.
Maintenance and resurfacing work on the A449 and Talbot Bridge, near Kidderminster, was due to begin today and is expected to last for the next three weeks.
One lane will be closed as work is carried out in both directions for nearly a mile-and-a-half.
Throughout the duration of the work, improvements on Talbot Bridge itself will require one lane closure, with just one lane kept open to traffic at all times.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time or vary their journeys if possible.
Speeds will be reduced to 10mph on the bridge and 40mph on the A449, although not during morning and afternoon rush hours.
The work will be carried out daily between 7am and 7pm.
