MENTAL health patients, staff and visitors at a Worcester centre have raised more than £210 for the victims of the Asian tsunami.
A raffle, tombola and bring-and-buy sale was held at Studdert Kennedy House, in City Walls Road, at the end of January, in aid of the appeal.
Staff have now finished counting up the pennies that will be sent off to rebuild towns and villages devastated by the natural disaster that struck on Boxing Day last year.
A spokeswoman for the centre, which provides care and support for the city's mental health sufferers, said she was surprised how many people turned out.
"We were grateful to the shops in Worcester which gave donations," she said.
"I was also impressed by the turnout because sometimes there is a stigma attached to mental health issues but I'm glad people in the city did not think like that."
