DOG owners who let their animals mess on the street are being warned they could face hefty fines as Wychavon District Council cracks down on fouling.
On-the-spot fines of £50, or a maximum of £1,000 with prosecution, awwait people who don't pick up after their dogs.
"Dog owners should be aware that we are patrolling the district and will fine people who still haven't got the message about dog fouling," said Wychavon dog warden Pip Singleton.
"It's important that we all take responsibility for keeping the district clean.

"Stepping in dog poop can be very unpleasant and we are doing all we can to make sure people pick up or pay up."
She called on help from the public to beat the problem.
"We need help both from dog owners and residents who see people persistently letting their dogs foul on the pavements.
"If we know which areas to target we can make our patrols efficient and effective."
