AN enterprising choral society is casting its net over Worcestershire to find amateur singers wishing to take part in a special Mozart celebration.
Three of the composer's greatest choral works are on the programme for the Mozart Fest in St Laurence's Church, Ludlow, on Saturday, May 14.
They are his setting of Laudate Dominum, the motet Ave Verum Corpus and his Requiem, which remained unfinished when he died. Patrick Larley, resident conductor of Ludlow Choral Society, will lead the chorus and Mark Jones will accompany on organ.
There will be three rehearsal sessions, starting at 10.30am on the day, followed by the concert at 7.30pm.
"This is a good opportunity for those who have not sung in St Laurence's or been to a concert there," said the society's publicist, Hugh Wood.
"It could be a great day out for those who don't know Ludlow. At lunchtime there will be a chance to sample our excellent pubs and restaurants or just explore this famous old town."
Anyone who wants to join the chorus for the day should contact Dorothy Jeffery on 01584 872022.
