ONE person has died and two people are in hospital after a number of accidents caused by black ice today.
The driver of a black Fiat Punto was killed following a single vehicle accident on the A4103 at Fromes Hill, between Malvern and Hereford, at 8.15am today.
The car was found upside down in a ditch, with the driver trapped inside.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Around the same time, two cars collided at Hollybush, near Ledbury. The female driver of a green Honda Civic was airlifted to Worcestershire Royal Hospital and the driver of a silver Freelander was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening. Gritting lorries were called to deal with the ice, while the road was blocked.
At 6am today a car careered through a hedge at Stockton-on-Teme on the A433, between Worcester and Tenbury Wells, after skidding on a patch of black ice.
The driver was not injured.
