EVERY little boy's dreams came true for eight-year-old Liam Marler.
Not only did he get the chance to have a kick around with his heroes at Anfield, he was also looked after by his favourite player, Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.
Liam - who plays for Pershore under-8s - was the mascot for the Premiership match on Saturday against Birmingham.
"It was brilliant," he said. "I got to play with Riise and Gerrard so it was great."
However, his day was tainted slightly as his heroes slipped to a 2-0 defeat.
"I was disappointed that Liverpool lost but it was a really good game."
And viewers who watched the final credits of Match of the Day on Saturday night would have seen Liam, of Priors Walk, Pershore, having his bootlaces tied by Gerrard on the pitch.
"It certainly brought a smile to his face," said his mother Jacqui. "It was a great day - apart from the result".
