ORGANISERS of a special preview for a nationally renowned garden show hope to grow funds for charities.

The Malvern Spring Gardening Show held at the Three Counties Showground, near Malvern, on Friday, May 13, to Sunday, May 15, is being organised by the Three Counties Agricultural Society and the Royal Horticultural Society. The BBC's Gardener's World crew will be filming the event.

And St Richard's Hospice, along with Gloucestershire's Pied Piper Appeal and the Rotary Club of Tewkesbury, are putting on a gala evening on Thursday, May 12, for a ticket-only preview of the medal-winning blooms.

The three charities hope to raise thousands of pounds for their good causes.

St Richard's, who provide comfort and palliative care for people with terminal illnesses is £1.25m away from starting to build a new hospice it hopes to open in 2006.

Tickets for the preview evening will cost £35 and include a champagne and canap reception.
