KIDDERMINSTER'S up-and-coming darts professional Chris Hook received some top tips from Keith Deller when the former World and British champion stopped off in town for an exhibition match.
Hook, from Marlpool, took on the 1983 world champion and current world number 26 at the Clubhouse Sports Bar in Mill Street last week.
Hook has been making rapid progress in the sport and recently achieved his first world ranking points after qualifying for the Professional Darts Corporation circuit.
Deller agreed to play a series of matches against local darters, culminating in a close clash with Hook which he edged 2-1.
Hook's next aim is to qualify for the Budweiser UK Open which will be televised in the summer.
The former England youth and Worcestershire county player needs to do well at regional events in London and Liverpool and Sheffield to qualify.
