A COMMUNITY Centre at the heart of Batchley is set to be extended and refurbished to answer growing demand.
Redditch Council is developing plans to extend Batchley Community Centre in Cherry Tree Walk, though nothing definite has been decided yet.
The centre is home to a SureStart parent and toddler group, RELATE marriage counselling, police surgeries, a youth club and other groups.
But it lacks facilities for confidential, one-to-one meetings and many groups are forced to share the rooms.
A spokesman said the plans were still in the early stages but the centre was at the heart of the community and an extension and better facilities would be a positive development.
An application for preliminary planning permission has been submitted to the council's planning department.
