DISGRACED former Kidderminster Harriers football star Lee Hughes has rediscovered his scoring touch, playing for his prison team.
The one-time Premiership striker for West Bromwich Albion was back on the pitch - for prison side, Featherstone.
The 28-year-old- serving a six-year jail term for causing death by dangerous driving - has already scored five times in two games.
Scoring twice
The striker, once known as the Ginger Ninja to the Albion fans, made his debut against Congleton Vale, coming on as a substitute and scoring twice.
And he netted a hat-trick in his side's 5-3 victory over Manor Inne in the Staffs County League.
Last August, Hughes received the sentence at Coventry Crown Court after being found guilty of killing 56-year-old Douglas Graham when his £100,000 Mercedes ploughed into the car in which the father-of-four was a rear-seat passenger.
Fled scene
During the high-profile trial, which made the front pages of many national papers, the court heard that Hughes fled the scene of the accident in November 2003, and did not turn himself into police for 36 hours.
The court heard Hughes had drunk several alcoholic drinks that evening before the accident.
Since the crash Mr Graham's widow Maureen, aged 51, who was injured in the collision, has died of natural causes.
