A QUESTIONNAIRE to identify Worcester residents' law and order concerns will be dropping through the letterboxes of 100 homes today.
Worcester City Police has launched a pilot survey to identify the issues that most worry residents.
"We want the survey to tell us which issues have the greatest impact on the community's quality of life and what, in particular, makes individual members feel vulnerable," said Insp Andy Smith.
"Graffiti, damage, burnt-out cars, disorderly conduct, problem neighbours, poor lighting and other issues can all make them feel more vulnerable or affect their quality of life.
Keen to hear
"While we use intelligence-led policing to ascertain priorities and solve problems, we are also keen to hear what our communities feel should be included in local policing priorities.
"The consultation process will enable residents to affect the way the city is policed and feel further reassured that we are working as hard as we can to keep their neighbourhood safe."
Insp Smith said the Have Your Say community consultation project - in which a questionnaire will initially go out to 100 households chosen at random across the city - is the first stage in an on-going process.
"From the initial community responses we will identify common key issues to be included in a second survey - this time focused on a larger proportion of city residents," Insp Smith added.
"The results of the second survey will enable us to more accurately focus attention and resources on tackling the issues that matter most."
