STOURPORT'S disappointing season continued with a 34-10 friendly defeat at Upton. Both sides were closely matched first half with the lineouts and the scrums fairly even. It was Upton who led 5-3 at the break after opening the scoring with a try with Rob Humphries hitting back with a penalty for Stourport.
In the second half Stourport took a 10-5 lead when blindside flanker Victor Little crashed over with Humphries adding the conversion.
But with the wind and the rain against them, Stourport's joy was shortlived as Upton started to dominate the game. The hosts ran in five tries and two conversions and despite Richard Gough and Andy Bourne going close, Stourport could not respond.
They are in friendly action again on Saturday when they visit Stourbridge.
The seconds avenged the firsts' defeat by securing an 18-5 win over their Upton counterparts. Despite falling behind to an unconverted try, a stern talking to from skipper Melvin Bourne inspired Sturport.
They hit back with a superb try by winger James Roberts before tries from Bourne and Steve Griffin and a Stewart Wilson penalty sealed the victory.
The seconds host Bromsgrove thirds at 2.
