STAND in skipper Andy Smith saw his team give a good account of themselves against opposition who play in a league two divisions above.
The visitors started brightly and saw the skipper's brother Rich Smith to open the scoring with a try, which turned out to be the only points of the game for Alcester.
Players out of position caused Alcester's downfall after the break as Pershore ran in three tries, two of which were improved by conversions, to seal their win.
