THIS is the society's 70th anniversary year, and the first show of the season was judged by long-time supporter of the society, Ernie Darby - championship show judge of gundogs and terriers.
The special show drew a bumper entry of 116 dogs.
To commemorate 70 years of dog shows in Bromsgrove, most of them held at All Saints Hall, in Burcot Lane, Bromsgrove, the show was kindly sponsored by Wilsons Pet Centre, of Bromsgrove, with product vouchers for the main winners, and also by Nutro dog foods, which gave free samples for the class winners.
Member, Lyn Horton, made a delicious cake, which was enjoyed by all members, to celebrate the day. Special prize cards and rosettes were also awarded.
Best in Show went to a pointer dog from Worcester owned by Mr Karisson, also from Worcester.
Best Puppy went to Miss Wilkinson's whippet bitch, winning five classes on the day, just beating her father, handling Mrs Halliwell's Welsh terrier.
Local winners were - Mrs Elliott's lhasa apso, Mr/Mrs McMillan's Siberian husky, Mr/Mrs Price's Hungarian vizsla and Lady Tennear's bearded collie.
Our next show will be on the evening of Wednesday, June 1.
Ringcraft classes are also held weekly at All Saints Hall.
