A STOKE Heath resident, who received an award for his work with Neighbourhood Watch, has got together a team of people to help crack anti-social problems in an alleyway.
George Verney, who won a prestigious Home Office award for taking a stand against anti-social behaviour, was pleased when the police and district council joined together with the Neighbourhood Watch to stop vandals attacking fencing.
The fencing in the alleyway between Talbot Road in Charford and The Tynes in Stoke Heath was often broken down by vandals and conifers made it very dark.
Bromsgrove District Council agreed to fund a new concrete wall, to the tune of £500, the police advised on what should be done and residents stumped up £500 to have the conifers removed.
George said: "We feel as though it was time we all got together. It is a good thing. It is joint co-operation between all three."
