HOCKEY: Droitwich 1st XI 2 Walsall 1st XI 4
SPA'S grip on the top spot in the West Midlands Hockey League Division One loosened when their main rivals defeated them on Saturday.
The leaders were rocked by two second half goals as Walsall cut the gap between themselves and Droitwich to two points.
After going behind to a short corner Barry Williams levelled the scores.
Walsall edged ahead again, but Ed Deacon equalised before half time.
However, goals at the beginning and end of the second period saw them slump to defeat.
Williams said: "Walsall deserved to win - they were sharper on the day."
Droitwich go to Yardley on Saturday.
