BROMSGROVE Blaze B showed signs they can match the best in the Worcestershire Junior Division - despite losing to Kings School 64-22.
Blaze's young team produced a gritty display to match a more experienced side for long periods.
However, as the game wore on battling Bromsgrove were ground down by their older and stronger opponents.
Dan Bolsher and Martin Mills in defence were in excellent form in the first quarter as their alert play allowed Bromsgrove to take the game to Kings.
Paul Wilkes was in deadly form as Blaze took a slight advantage into the second quarter.
Ben Stanford scored a long range two point shot to hand Blaze a fine start to the second period, but Bromsgrove's opponents turned the screws as the match wore on.
However, Blaze's youngest players, Phil Strickley and Dan Bolsher gave good accounts of themselves.
Kings' pressure told in the final two quarters as Bromsgrove's young team tired.
