I WOULD like to thank those who responded to my request for information concerning the Tivoli in Mill Street, Kidderminster.
Whilst no-one could remember the Tivoli, there were a number who could remember the Bijou Cinema, which was sited at what is now the Frank Freeman Dance Studio above La Brasserie restaurant.
It would appear that the Bijou was operating as a cinema until the outbreak of the Second World War.
My conclusion is that the Tivoli operated before the First World War as a music hall/picture house and changed its name to the Bijou, when a rival across the street - the Electric Cinema - changed its name to the Grand. (Bijou meaning small and Grand meaning large).
However, no dates are known for the changes.
