There seems to have been a good deal of misunderstanding between the members of Badsey Parish Council and Evesham District Council as to what has taken place in reference to the negotiations in regard to the sewerage scheme for Badsey. It was certainly suggested, if not stated in so many words, that communications from the former body to the latter have been suppressed, but any feeling of that kind which might have existed was dissipated on Monday, when the Clerk of the District Council read a minute which clearly showed that the matter was dealt with in the ordinary course of business.

The Totaliser is coming to Pershore. Mr. W. Wood, hon. secretary of the Pershore Steeplechase Committee, states that the Totaliser will be in operation at the meeting on May 5th and 6th, both in the ring and on the course. Coloured photographs of beautiful models displaying the latest fashions in picturesque parts of the Vale of Evesham may help to sell the Vale's fruit and vegetables. The editors of a famous fashion magazine have received sympathetically a suggestion by Mr. C. P. Norbury (chairman of the N.F.U. Fruit Committee) that the district should be used as the theme for one of their features. Mr. Norbury, a fruit farmer, attended last Friday's meeting of the Evesham N.F.U. branch to explain his scheme for obtaining more publicity for the Vale of Evesham and its produce. "I know that some of you will think this is just an idea to get a lot of glamour girls down to the Vale," said Mr. Norbury with a smile.

There have been only a few objections to the proposed line of Evesham's promised by-pass, confirming that the choice of an eastern route was the right one. The public consultation exercise following the announcement of the route in December has just ended. Instead of a flood of objections, it brought about 50 and as a result only "minor changes" are now being contemplated by road engineers. Mr G. Anson of the Midland Road Construction Unit said yesterday that the general reaction by the public had shown that the eastern route was the right choice. "we were pleased to see that we had read the mood of the town correctly," he said.
