WHAT is the lifespan of a mute swan, do they partner for life, do they return to the nest? At the January indoor meeting these questions were answered by Bert Coleman. His knowledge of mute swans had been gained from an intensive and ongoing survey.
Members took a field trip to the RSPB Sandwell Valley Nature Reserve and Forge Mill Lake.
At the meeting on Wednesday, February 23, Wendy Conway, professional photographer, will be giving an illustrated talk on Florida and White Sands. Non-members are always welcome to attend. A nominal charge includes light refreshments.
On Sunday, February 27, the field trip will be to Draycote Water Country Park. The minibus will leave Broadwaters car park at 9am.
Due to Easter, the March indoor meeting will be held on the fifth Wednesday of the month, March 30.
At this meeting the fourth annual general meeting of the branch will precede the illustrated talk.
Anyone interested in wildlife, birdlife and conservation in general is always welcome to join both indoor meetings and field trips.
