FARMERS held an exchange of views on current areas of concern in the agricultural industry when they met David Fursdon, deputy president of the Country Land and Business Association.
The meeting was organised by Chris Tallis, of Chris Tallis Farm Machinery Ltd, Hinton-on-the-Green and held at Overbury.
There they talked about the major changes in the Common Agricultural Policy which is going to impact on all farmers through the Single Payment System, the problem of Bovine TB, access to the countryside and the question of growing bio fuels.
"I thought it was a very useful meeting," Mr Fursdon said.
"It gave me the opportunity to hear from farmers about their particular concerns and from my point of view I was able to explain CLA policy and what we are already doing to address some of those concerns."
Ben Tallis added: "It was good to be able to get the farmers together to meet Mr Fursdon for the talks. We had a good cross section of the industry so a variety of views were aired."
