ENTERPRISING youngsters, committee members and volunteers from Bidford Youth Club started aluminium can collection to raise money for the club.

Children aged nine or more are taking part, and for every kilogram they collect for recycling they earn themselves 40p which will be used for the club's projects.

Diane Bennett from Bidford, a youth worker at the club, said the project was started last year. She said: "We're fast collecting at the moment, and we've got young people involved and parents involved. We've got lots of different club projects on the horizon at the moment that we're looking into."

Bidford Youth Club for nine to 19-year-olds, has been at its current site at Bidford Youth Club on Salford Road for 30 years. The club is divided up into juniors, seniors and a canoe club section.

People with cans should drop them into the Bidford Youth Club hut, or ring Miss Bennett on 07721 559387.
