A SKILLED guitarist who has toured with the band Simply Red is set to bring his talents to Worcester at the weekend with a gig at the city's Marrs Bar.
Aziz Ibrahim began playing guitar at an early age and had his first taste of success and excess in the music world while touring with Simply Red.
From there he left the band behind to evolve as one of the most gifted and talked about musicians of his ilk.
He has since had a brief stint as the only muslim in the band The Christians and then the only Asian in Asia, before replacing John Squire in The Stone Roses in 1996.
On signing to No Label Records in 2000, he released an EP - Middle Road - featuring Paul Weller selling 5000 copies on a limited release as a precursor to the album - Lahore To Longsight & Mac 226.
He can be caught at the Marrs Bar at 7pm on Sunday, February 20.
Tickets for the gig are £8 in advance or £10 on the door.
