WORCESTER vet Jo Thomson, who is running in this year's London Marathon, raised £400 by staging a charity curry night.
She hosted the bash at Caf Mela in Foregate Street, to help boost sponsorship for her chosen charity Guide Dogs for the Blind.
"I've reached my target of £1,200 now, which guarantees my entrance for the race, and I should make it to the £2,000 mark," she said.
"I'm too busy doing time-consuming training to do much more fund-raising, but I'm get very excited now."
The 29-year-old works at the Severn Veterinary Centre based in Ankerage Green, Warndon Villages, and Tybridge Street, St John's.
She said she wanted to thank Caf Mela, Sandford Spa, Worcester Wine Company, Worcester Rugby Club, The Blue Room, Boots, Debenhams and Active Fire Protection for donating prizes for her raffle.
This year's Flora London Marathon takes place on Sunday, April 17.
