LORRY drivers parking illegally on a Worcester business park have been stopped in their tracks by a £10,000 bollard scheme.
Fifty-seven wooden bollards have been installed in Wainwright Road in the Shire Business Park to prevent vehicles mounting and parking on the path.
The illegally-parked vehicles were causing difficulties for pedestrians accessing the business park and were also affecting the link to the canal towpath cycle route.
Local residents had raised concerns about heavy goods vehicles running over and parking on the footpath with the Worcester Transportation Partnership.
"We are pleased to have responded to the public concerns about the parking at Shire Business Park," said Travelwise Officer Nicky Luff.
"The illegally-parked cars and lorries were not only proving to be getting in the way of pedestrian and cycle access but also damaging verges.
"There are proper parking and loading areas where these vehicles should be using."
