ORGANISERS of Malvern's annual May Day Parade are appealing for stewards to allow the event to go ahead.
The parade, organised by Malvern Fringe, has been a regular feature of the town's calendar for several years.
It involves brief closures of some roads in the town centre to allow the parade to pass through. This year it is taking place on Saturday, April 30.
May Day committee member Owen Morgan, who is in charge of organising the closures for this year's event, is appealing for volunteer helpers.
"It really is vital that we get stewarding for this event, otherwise it won't be able to go ahead," said Mr Morgan.
"All the stewards will have to do is to move the barriers and 'road closed' notices across the roads in question before the parade passes by and then re-open the route again once the tail end of it has gone past."
The parade runs from noon until 12.45pm and there are four main barriers, so stewards would only need to operate each one for about 11 minutes.
