The future of sport in the Malvern Hills district has been secured.
Coaching sessions, play schemes and support projects run by Malvern Hills District council will receive a slice of the £315 million being invested nationally by Sport England.
The organisation is responsible for delivering the Government's sport objectives and distributes funding and invests in various sporting projects.
Although the council does not know exactly how much money it will receive, it should cover the funding of local sporting projects for the next four years.
These include a play scheme for 5-11 year olds during Easter and summer holidays, sports development programmes for school children and sports support projects for teenagers.
District councillor Clive Smith said: "This financial support is great news for young people across the district, who will be able to continue to be actively involved in the excellent programmes run by the Cultural Services team.
"You never know, this might just help us find the next David Beckham or Kelly Holmes right here in Malvern."
The money, which is divided among several regions, is due to be handed out in April.
