MALVERN men's hockey team entertained West Midlands division two leaders West Bromwich on Saturday and made them fight all the way.
MALVERN 0, WEST BROMWICH 3
Although the leaders dominated possession, they struggled to break down a resolute home defence consisting of Brian Crump, Rich Peate and Mark Howarth.
Improving Malvern repelled the visitors until nearly half-time when a well-worked move gave West Bromwich a 1-0 lead.
Mainly due to the hard work of Ian Braim and Alex West, Malvern prevented the visitors scoring again until midway through the half. A late goal made the game safe for them at 3-0.
Man of the match was Ian Braim.
Malvern are still looking for players, young or old. Join them at training at The Chase on Wednesdays from 6pm or call Brian Crump on 01684 562223 or 07709 800039 (m).
