THE Malvern junior table tennis team travelled to Aldersley Leisure Village at Wolverhampton last weekend for their final round of fixtures in the prestigious Junior British League.
Competing for the second time in the division against teams from Romford, Hull, Southampton, Barrow-in-Furness and Kendal, the Malvern team, consisting of Jack Higgs, Anthony Wiseman and Matthew Lang, once again gave a good account of themselves.
Although the division was won quite comfortably by the very strong Romford side, the runners-up place was not decided until the last round of fixtures. With Malvern only drawing their final match, the runners-up place went to Hull.
However, Malvern's final results of three wins, four drawn matches and three losses ensured their fourth place and the team, together with Mark Griffiths, who played in two of the earlier fixtures, are to be congratulated on what proved to be a very creditable performance.
