VELO Club Sevale (Malvern) held their annual awards ceremony at the Civil Service Social Club.
Various trophies, medals and certificates were awarded to club members for their cycling achievements throughout last year.
Major trophies were awarded to road race champion Kevin Minsky, best all-rounder (senior and veteran) Mike Amery, and time trial series winner, 10 mile and 25 mile champion Brian Boswell.
Gold, silver or bronze medals were award to Sean O'Toole, Mike Amery, Brian Boswell, Roz Bray and Eddie Bray. The Hill Climb champion was Brian Boswell.
The club welcomes new members to its programme of events throughout the year, which include weekly time trials, reliability rides and treasure hunts. Every Sunday members meet at 9am at Barnards Green bus shelter for rides of 50 miles or more, depending on the season.
The rides are suitable for the reasonably fit cyclist and there is usually a cake stop at a pre-arranged cafe.
Details of rides and other events are on the website www.sevale-malvern.freeserve.co.uk or phone Eric on 01684 568015.
Cyclesport Midlands held their 16th annual reliability ride on Sunday.
Around 60 riders took part in the event over a hilly circuit, taking in Abberley Hill and the one-in-five climb out of Tenbury Wells. Most of the riders completed the event within the time limit of two hours and 45 minutes even though the conditions were difficult, being cold and very foggy in some parts. There was also a diversion for a closed road in Worcester which led one large group the wrong way.
