WORCESTERSHIRE'S Shoaib Akhtar has been reprimanded by the Pakistan Cricket Board and fined $500 for displaying 'erratic behaviour'.
Shoaib, who has signed up for a two-month stint at New Road starting in July, was called to appear before a disciplinary committee to answer charges that he had violated his PCB contract while on Pakistan's tour of Australia.
Akhtar had been charged with visiting Aussie nightclubs while on tour, giving press statements which were frowned upon and returning late to Pakistan, despite suffering a hamstring injury.
"We are of the considered opinion that this is a case, at the most, of indiscipline. It seems that (Shoaib) has taken the code of conduct very lightly and has displayed erratic behaviour," said the PCB in a statement.
Meanwhile, Shoaib has pulled out of the forthcoming Test series with India due to his hamstring problem.
