At the rear of Portland Stables and close to the former Artillery Drill Hall, Messrs W and B Woodyatt, the well-known carriage proprietors, have erected a large and splendidly-equipped riding school, the only one within a very wide radius. The old riding school, which was taken over by the firm in February, really existed only in name and the present building is entirely new and on the most complete and up-to-date lines. The Riding Master is Sergeant Major Cameron, formerly of the 12th Lancers. He holds a first-class certificate and is able to impart the same instruction in riding that is given to the Army classes at Sandhurst. Malvern Gazette, February 17, 1905.
On Friday night, a largely attended meeting was held at Wellington Heath under the auspices of the Colwall Liberal Association, to further the cause of Free Trade. The meeting was held in a large barn near the Farmer's Arms, and this room had been specially prepared for that occasion - the seating and lighting being everything that could be desired. Ledbury Free Press, February 21, 1905.

Main line trains were held up at Malvern Wells early yesterday when an engine became derailed in the vicinity of the station at about 7.30pm. The front wheels of the engine came off the track when it was crossing the points to pick up the coaches to form the 7.40am Wells to Worcester train. Neither the driver nor the fireman, both Worcester men, were hurt. Malvern Gazette, February 18, 1955.
Some members of the congregation of Ledbury Parish Church last Sunday took the opportunity to inspect the dismantled weather vane or cock, which has been re-gilded in readiness for its return to an elevated position, on the church spire. The vane was last taken down in 1935. Ledbury Reporter, February 18, 1955.

Watch out there are wild animals about. It is feeding time at the White Hart in Church Street, and it's not pints of beer that the landlord is pulling, but pints of milk, for about 30 wild cats. Ledbury Reporter, February 21, 1980.
