A TOP Worcester business women - who has the title to prove it - is raising much-needed funds for a local hospice by approaching local firms to see if they have the WOW factor.
In her capacity as Worcestershire Business Woman of the Year 2003-2005, Vivienne Hudson, of hotelshop, is generating cash for St Richard's Hospice.
The "Women of Worcestershire" (WOW) scheme is part of the fund-raising for St Richard's Hospice, and as the last winner, Vivienne is involved in a number of initiatives.
She is asking businesses to contribute £25 towards the end goal of a specialist care room and equipment within St Richard's new bedded unit.
In addition, she is inviting these businesses and their guests to attend the charity luncheon for the Women of Worcestershire on June 29, which recognises the outstanding achievements of the county's women across business, achievement and voluntary categories.
"If every business in the area donates just £25, we will achieve a huge figure for St Richard's," she said.
Showcase
"This is a small, yet highly significant, way in which the business community can get involved with our local Hospice.
"And the charity luncheon is the perfect opportunity to showcase and recognise the incredible achievements of women across the county, in the business arena and beyond.
"Our plea to firms in Worcestershire, is please 'WOW' us and give all the support you can."
The title of Worcestershire Business Woman of the Year 2003-2005 was awarded to Vivienne to mark her achievements in establishing and growing hotelshop to a flourishing £1 million size company.
Employing 40 employees from the local area, hotelshop, which is based in Droitwich, is a specialist in last minute hotels, packages and UK short breaks.
Its corporate division assists in looking suitable venues for companies, controlling and monitoring hotel expenditure to meet the needs of the company, booker and traveller.
