ORGANISERS hope to get the local point-to-point season underway at the second attempt tomorrow.
They are looking forward to the North Herefordshire Hunt at Whitwick Manor, Newtown, after the postponement of last week's Harkaway Club meeting in Chaddesley Corbett due to the weather.
A nine-race card is planned with the opener at noon and 220 entries have been received.
A mares-only Maiden race is being staged for the first time at the meeting and 34 entries have been attracted.
The Men's Open race has 32 entries, including last season's Lady Dudley Cup hero Caught at Dawn.
He is sure to go off as favourite if lining up and possible opponents could be Fontaine Again from owner Clive Hitchings' yard, previous course winner Well Ted and the well-regarded Just Cliquot.
The Ladies' Open should see the reappearance of last season's top pointer Upton Adventure.
Possible opposition could come from Titus Bramble, Father Tom and Mighty Montefalco, the mount of Ann de Lisle Wells.
Among the maiden horses to watch out for is Weiser Bud from the in-form stable of Lower Broadheath trainer Mike Hammond.
Nominate, an inmate of Steve Flook's Shobden yard, is another as is Gemster, owned and trained by Alan Hollingsworth.
The Harkaway Club meeting at Chaddesley Corbett is re-scheduled for next Saturday.
