Worcestershire is set for temperatures to plummet to as low as minus 3C during the next couple of nights.
But the widely forecasted blizzard conditions, which would create havoc for farmers and commuters in Worcestershire will not materialise, believes the Evening News' weatherman, Paul Damari.
Tonight, Met Office forecasters believe temperatures will hit freezing, and tomorrow and Wednesday night the minimum could be as low as minus 3.
Mr Damari said the temperatures are below average, although cold snaps are a common February occurrence.
He said the chill was felt more keenly because of the long spell of milder than average temperatures during the winter, which has been about 2C warmer than usual.
"I think the night time temperatures will drop to as low as minus 2C, or 28F to 32F, and day time temperatures will be somewhere between 2C to 4C," he said.
"I don't believe the heavy snow and blizzard conditions that have been forecast over the weekend will happen."
The outlook is expected to remain dry and sunny, with some isolated wintry showers until Thursday, when warmer, wetter weather might set in, added Mr Damari.
