WORCESTER police have warned smokers to be wary of offers of cigarettes from dubious sources.
The warning follows the theft of more than £2,000 worth of cigarettes, of various well-known brands, from a storage area of the Tesco store in Mill Wood Drive, Warndon.
The incident, which happened at approximately 5am last Friday, February 18, is thought to have been carried out by three or four men wearing balaclavas, who were driven away in a dark grey Volvo S40 saloon.
Police also want to hear from anyone who was in or near the 24-hour store before, during or immediately after the theft and who may have seen something suspicious.
"Hopefully, someone saw something that will help with our enquiries."
Anyone with information should call police on 08457 444 888.
