DISUSED council land in Lakeside has been earmarked for transfer to a developer to build up to 36 homes.
Plans to sell the Redditch Council land to build around 21 homes on Sillins Avenue and 15 behind Farm Road were given backing at a recent executive committee meeting.
A report for the committee said the sites were surplus to the council's requirements and recommended the plots were sold to a registered social landlord for development
The Sillins Avenue site was an allotment but is now overgrown and used by flytippers and Council Leader David Cartwright said residents near both plots were very keen to see them put to good use.
He said part of the Sillins Avenue site was dedicated as public open space so the council would have to advertise its intention to dispose of the land.
