WYTHALL residents are to benefit from a CCTV system if Bromsgrove councillors give the scheme the go-ahead next week.
Plans have been drawn up to install cameras in Hollywood and Station Road, Drakes Cross.
The scheme has been placed in Bromsgrove Council's budget for 2005/06 and is due to be discussed at a their full meeting next Tuesday.
Councillor Roger Hollingworth welcomed the news. He said: "Wythall is a high priority for CCTV because there have been some serious incidents there, not least the armed robbery at the post office."
The meeting will also decide the Bromsgrove District council tax. The proposals are to raise the council's part of the tax bill by five per cent from £149 to £156 for a Band D property.
