WORCESTER City Amateur Boxing Club welterweight Shane Smith stopped Mike Min-chin from Gloucester in the first round of his debut bout.
There were some good exchanges during the start of the round with both boxers eager to impress the Chippenham crowd.
But Smith found his range and shook Minchin with a hard left hook and, mid-way through the round, a well-timed short right dropped Minchin to the canvas for a count of eight.
Smith followed up and forced the referee to give Minchin a standing eight count.
More pressure from the Worcester boxer forced the referee to stop the contest just before the end of the first round.
