ALCESTER-based Torex Retail has secured a major contract to deliver a computer system to Liverpool-based department store giant Lewis's.
The contract will see Torex deliver a £275,000 installation of its Encore Windows POS and back office store system running on IBM SurePOS 500 tills and IBM servers.
The deal will also see the firm supply all ancillary equipment including keyboards, scanners and Chip & Pin hardware.
A five-year support contract has also been agreed with the order which is due to be rolled out in February 2005 and Torex Retail will also manage all staff training associated with the deployment.
Lewis's finance director David Thompson said: "We chose this solution because it has been specifically developed for the department store sector and already enjoys a significant installed customer base."
