"EXPERTS highlight sites for barriers" read the headline in the Evening News.
To my mind, the flood plain as shown is flawed on the town side of the plan around areas 4 and 5.
The 2000 flood reached as far as the CrownGate Bus Station. It does seem foolish that Newport Street car park is being allowed to be built upon. The land was under the control of the city council.
Now it appears the parking is needed and needs part of Cripplegate Park to replace it. Add to the fact Newport Street is in the flood plain, how crazy can you get?
It is time councils set the example. How did the Chief Technical Officer give his approval? It looks as if Worcester would be better off without him.
