DROITWICH Spa Girls' Brigade has come of age.
The popular girls' group, which currently has 33 members, is celebrating its 21st birthday.
Shirley Searle, Girls' Brigade captain, said the group held a party to mark the occasion complete with a delicious birthday cake.
Shirley has been involved with the Droitwich branch of the brigade for 20 years and the main changes she has seen involves the uniform.
"The uniform now is much more casual. We don't wear long white gloves and shirts anymore - instead we wear navy blue sweatshirts," she said.
The group is open to girls aged between four and 17 and offers a wide range of activities, including craft, cookery, Bible study, swimming and day trips.
"We are always on the look out for new members, especially girls aged between four and eleven," said Shirley.
"We meet at Amphlett House in Worcester Road, which has recently been refurbished so we have some extra room for more girls."
The brigade meets every Thursday from 6.30 to 8pm and new members are welcome to drop in.
