LONG distance runner Mark Miles finished third in the National Cross Country Championships on Saturday.
The Bromsgrove resident, a member of London's Belgrave Harriers Athletic Club, finished the 12 kilometre course at Cofton Park in 38 minutes and 28 seconds.
The event was won Coventry and Godiva's Glynn Tromans, who clinched his third national title in 37.53mins in Birmingham.
Bromsgrove and Redditch Athletic Club (B&R) also had a good showing at the championships.
The club finished 56th overall in the team standings - out of the one hundred that entered.
James Adie was B&R's leading light, finishing 108th in 42.16mins.
Kevin Lanckham was 374th (46.05mins), followed by Steve Clewes in 590th (40.52mins).
Barry Cooke crossed the line in 700th (50.02mins), while Phil Anderson finished in 817th place (51.50mins).
Steve Bach completed the course in a respectable 943rd (53.48mins) in his first event of the winter.
Pete Hawcroft came 1,059th (56.16mins), while Steve James, finishing 1,307th (72:53mins), was B&R's final runner to cross the line.
