TEAMS from the Bromsgrove and Redditch Table Tennis League Division Two had their chance to beat teams from the higher tier in the Handicap Cup week.
With lower ranked teams awarded extra points the pressure was on the Division One sides to score highly.
In the week's closest game Droitwich Spa gave title chasing Cofton Hackett B a tough match.
Despite losing 375-193 the extra 175 points Spa were given meant they only lost by seven points.
Droitwich D lost 388-179 to Carter Retail, but the extra 210 points Spa were awarded saw them victorious.
West Midlands Phones B thumped Droitwich's E side 378-144.
However, Spa were awarded 250 points to ensure that they edged through.
Astwood Bank defeated Lickey Rocs 374-225 and despite the Rocs being awarded 110 it could not deny Bank victory.
In-form SPSP lost away at Coughton. They were beaten 372-219 and their points award of 110 was not enough to see them overcome their rivals.
