THE Montpellier String Trio provided a delightful evening's music for the February concert.
Opening with Mozart's Adagio and Fugue in F, they continued with Beethoven's Serenade in D with a lesser-known work, Jean Francaix's lovely Trio in B flat.
An enthusiastic audience thoroughly enjoyed the performance, which cheered a wet and miserable night.
The next concert on March 5 will be given by brilliant young violinist Ruth Rogers, accompanied by prize-winning pianist Martin Cousin.
Ruth was chosen by the eminent conductor Lorin Maazel to perform with tenor Andrea Bocelli in a series of concerts which led to TV and radio broadcasts and further concerts worldwide.
She will play sonatas by Handel, Janacek and Grieg, Dvorak's romantic pieces and the showpiece Introduction and Rondo Capriccio by Saint-Saens.
The concert will be at the Ecumenical Centre at 7.30pm.
