Bromsgrove Blaze 63 Warley 62
SAM GOULDING sealed a close victory for Bromsgrove Blaze Basketball team and avenged defeat at the hands of Warley earlier in the season.
Goulding's late free throw in the game's dying seconds handed Blaze victory in the West Midlands Development League at the Ryland Centre.
Bromsgrove produced a determined performance against a Warley side containing three seniors players.
Alex Lockwood opened the scoring, but Warley took a seven point lead in the first quarter.
Bromsgrove's only senior player, Jon Miller, lifted his team and Adam Beaumont scored a rebound.
Goulding took his side within two points of Warley with a long range shot.
Chris Higgins started the second quarter with two baskets, but Warley went into half time leading 40-28.
Lockwood tried to spark Bromsgrove's fight back in the third quarter, but Warley held a 14 point leading going into the final stage.
Higgins and Lockwood put Bromsgrove with in six points early in the fourth quarter.
Goulding put Blaze ahead, but Warley levelled the scores.
However, Warley missed a free shot and Goulding won two free-throws on the break.
While only converting one there was not enough time for Warley to strike back.
