INTEREST AND LEISURE GROUP: The mystery tour proved to be interesting with an extra bonus was the beautiful day with lots of sunshine and blue skies. The coach started out by going through Shipston and crossed through different counties travelling on quiet roads and through many pretty villages.
One of note was the Quaker settlement with black and white timbered cottages, some of which housed candidates who wished to emigrate to America. For this they had to prove they could be self-sufficient for one year and if they could were given assisted passage money to go. The village is Sibford Gower.
After lunch there was more delightful scenery, especially around Alderminster and Ilmington and so back to Moreton.
Cliff Bradley thanked organisers Alan and Angela.
